Mission
Epistemology and Philosophy of Science publishes research, overview, and polemic papers in modern epistemology, philosophy and history of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, the humanities, and cultural studies.
Epistemology and Philosophy of Science aims to be a unique platform for current discussions among philosophers and researchers from all fields of science and humanities.
The journal’s fundamental mission is to promote philosophical discussions of the nature of human knowledge and popularize the most recent trends in natural, human and social studies in their epistemological dimension.
Special attention is paid to the current research of the traditional philosophical problem of the origins of knowledge and the problem of the nature of language and mind. Recognizing them as the core problems of philosophy we are trying to show their applied meaning for epistemology, science and cultural studies.
The journal helps develop a fruitful dialogue between science and philosophy that seems to be in significant demand in the contemporary world. We welcome interdisciplinary approaches to epistemology and philosophy of science that borrow methods from other fields – natural and social sciences as well as the humanities – and allow the use of philosophical methods in the theoretical analysis of scientific problems.
The journal intends to promote all methods, perspectives and traditions in the philosophical analysis of knowledge and science. We welcome case-studies that tend to combine an in-depth and detailed examination of a scientific problem with an analysis of the relevant general philosophical, social and cultural context.
Epistemology and Philosophy of Science also publishes reviews of recent books on relevant topics. Reviews of conferences and significant events in philosophy can also be accepted.
